UPPSC: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the date for the Principal recruitment examination. Candidates appearing for the exam can visit the official website to view the complete schedule. Online applications were invited from interested and eligible candidates from April 24, 2025, to May 26, 2025. A total of 21 posts have been declared under this recruitment drive.
Under this recruitment campaign, a total of 21 posts for the position of Principal will be filled. Of these, 8 posts have been designated for the Unreserved (General) category, 6 posts for Scheduled Castes (SC), 5 posts for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 2 posts for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). No posts have been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category.
Furthermore, out of these posts, 4 have been reserved specifically for female candidates to ensure that women receive adequate opportunities in this recruitment process.
Exam Date
According to the annual examination calendar released by the UPPSC, Prayagraj, on January 30, 2026, the written examination for the post of Principal—advertised under the U.P. Technical Education (Teaching) Service Examination-2025—will be conducted on April 9, 2026 (Thursday).
The examination will be held at the Commission's examination hall in Prayagraj. It will be conducted in two sessions: the first session from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second session from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Through this examination, eligible candidates will be selected for the post of Principal within the Technical Education Department.
Salary Details
Candidates selected for this position will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹1,31,400 to ₹2,04,700, in accordance with Level-13 of the pay matrix. Additionally, they may be entitled to other allowances as per government regulations.
In this recruitment process, the selection of candidates will be based on a written examination followed by an interview. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will subsequently be called for an interview.
UPPSC Principal Exam Pattern: View Exam Pattern
The examination will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will comprise Paper I, in which 25 questions will be asked from General Hindi; each question will carry 3 marks, totaling 75 marks. Additionally, 100 questions will be asked from General Studies-I, carrying a total of 300 marks. Thus, the total marks for Paper I will be 375, and a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes will be allotted for it.
The second session will comprise Paper II, in which 125 questions will be asked from General Studies-II. Each question will carry 3 marks; therefore, this paper will carry a total of 375 marks. Candidates will also be allotted a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes to attempt this paper.
