Hansika Motwani and Sohael Khaturiya's Divorce Finalized
Actress Hansika Motwani and her husband Sohael Khaturiya have officially ended their marriage, with the Bandra Family Court granting them a divorce by mutual consent. The couple had been married for nearly four years, having celebrated their wedding in an extravagant ceremony. However, over time, they found themselves drifting apart due to differences in their personalities, lifestyles, and perspectives, leading to frequent disagreements and ultimately their decision to part ways.
Response from Hansika's Ex Sister-in-Law
In the wake of the divorce, Muskan Nancy James, Hansika's former sister-in-law, took to Instagram to share a cryptic message. She expressed her desire to be distanced from others' lives, stating, "Requesting a few social media platforms to please keep me away from someone else’s life. You have always been supportive and understanding, and I truly appreciate that." She further added, "Kindly don’t associate me with someone’s absolutely fake world. I don’t have Paid PR—let time reveal the truth. ‘Sab Samay ka khel Hai’. Peace, Love & Karma."
For context, Hansika and Sohael exchanged vows on December 4, 2022, at the Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Following their marriage, Hansika faced accusations of having an affair with Sohael, who was previously married to her best friend, Rinky Bajaj. After their divorce, Sohael married Hansika.
Hansika Addresses Marriage Controversy
Earlier in 2023, during the premiere episode of 'Love Shaadi Drama', Hansika addressed the controversies surrounding her marriage. She stated, "Just because I knew the person at that time doesn't mean it was my fault. I have nothing to do with this." The actress emphasized that being a public figure often leads to her being unfairly labeled as the villain, a consequence she has had to accept as part of her celebrity status.
Details of the Divorce Proceedings
According to lawyer Adnan Shaikh, the divorce was granted after both parties acknowledged that their marriage had irretrievably broken down. He noted that Hansika did not request any financial settlement and expressed her desire to focus on her life and career moving forward. On the professional front, Hansika was last seen in the Tamil film 'Guardian', which was released theatrically on March 8, 2024.
