The elite boxing teams of India, both men's and women's, have landed in Mongolia to kick off an intensive training camp in preparation for the Asian Boxing Championships 2026. This prestigious event is set to take place from March 28 to April 11, 2026. They are accompanied by their support staff and will begin their acclimatization process.
Training Plans and Objectives
The Indian team will engage in training sessions alongside athletes from various countries as they prepare for this significant continental competition. The event will offer winners a chance to qualify directly for the upcoming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games later this year. A second group of athletes and support personnel is expected to travel to Mongolia on March 15 to join the training camp.
Enhanced Preparation with Sparring Partners
In addition to the main team, the camp will also include second-ranked boxers in Olympic weight classes and first-ranked boxers in non-Olympic categories. Their presence will provide valuable sparring opportunities, enhancing the overall preparation of the team. These additional boxers will train with the main squad and are scheduled to return to India on March 28, 2026.
