Who is Pritam Raj of Bihar, whom BCCI will honor in Naman Award?

The annual Naman Awards ceremony of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is to be held on March 15 in New Delhi. In this ceremony, Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid will be awarded the Board’s highest honor, Colonel CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. Mithali Raj will be honored with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award. Apart from this, Indian players who have performed well at international and domestic level are also to be honoured, in which the name of young cricketer from Bihar Pritam Raj is also included.

Pritam Raj will get this award

Pritam Raj is the only cricketer from Bihar to be honored in this award ceremony. He will be awarded the Jagmohan Dalmia Trophy. Pritam will receive this award for scoring the most runs in the Under-19 Vijay Merchant Trophy 2024-25 Season Plate Group. He also scored a triple century against Arunachal Pradesh in that tournament. Pritam had played an inning of 304 runs in 277 balls with the help of 44 fours and 7 sixes.

 

Who is Pritam Raj?

Left-handed batsman Pritam Raj comes from Gayaji district of Bihar. He is one of the emerging cricketers of the state. He was made the captain of Bihar for the Vijay Merchant Trophy in 2024. Last year, he was also selected in Bihar Under-19 team for Vinoo Mankad Trophy.

 

 

Pritam is a resident of Bela village of Belaganj block. His father Premkant Kumar is in the police and his mother Archana Kumari is a housewife. Pritam fell in love with cricket at a very young age. Seeing his love for cricket, his father Premkant Kumar encouraged him. After this, Pritam started training at Magadh Panther Cricket Academy and made his mark at an early age.
