On March 14, just a day after announcing he was done with the music industry and taking shots at both Columbia Records and 'Euphoria', British musician and composer Labrinth surprised everyone by dropping an unreleased track online. The Emmy-winning composer shared the new music on Instagram shortly after posting a cryptic message on March 13, where he wrote "F*** Columbia" and "Double F*** Euphoria." No context, no explanation. Just that. The post spread fast, and the unreleased track that followed has since sparked speculation among fans, many of whom believe it could be connected to the upcoming 'Euphoria' Season 3 soundtrack. Others in the comments were even more direct, saying the series simply would not feel the same without his music.
What actually happened between Labrinth and 'Euphoria' season 3Labrinth had been expected to return for 'Euphoria' Season 3, which premieres on April 12. The new season, created by Sam Levinson , will also feature music from Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer , who joined the project last year. When that collaboration was first announced, Labrinth had publicly expressed excitement about working alongside one of his long-time inspirations and bringing something fresh to the series. After his recent posts, however, it remains unclear whether the music he composed will even appear in the upcoming season.
Interestingly, Labrinth had also been spotted with Levinson at Paris Fashion Week just days before the controversy broke out online.
Labrinth's history with 'Euphoria'Labrinth's connection to 'Euphoria' goes back to when the show first premiered in 2019. His song 'All For Us,' performed with Zendaya , became one of the most recognisable tracks from the series, reaching number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
'Euphoria' season 3The new season returns after a time jump, with the characters having graduated from high school. The show stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer, with several new faces also joining, including Danielle Deadwyler, Natasha Lyonne, Eli Roth, Rosalía, and guest star Sharon Stone. Eight episodes are set to air starting April 12.
