Bangladesh has once again surprised the cricket world by defeating Pakistan in a thrilling match. In the third and deciding ODI match played in Dhaka, the host team defeated Pakistan by 11 runs. With this victory, Bangladesh captured the three-match ODI series 2-1. Salman Agha played a brilliant century for Pakistan, but he could not take the team to the threshold of victory.

This is only the seventh time in ODI history that Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan. After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh scored a strong score of 290 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, thanks to the first ODI century (107 runs) of opener Tanjid Hasan.

Salman Agha’s century went in vain

The Pakistani team, which came out to chase the challenging target of 291 runs, had a very disappointing start. The team lost the wickets of its top three batsmen on the score of just 17 runs. Even after this, the process of falling wickets did not stop and experienced batsmen like Sahibzada Farhan to Mohammad Rizwan also quickly returned to the pavilion. As a result, Pakistan’s score at one time was 5 wickets for 82 runs.

From here Salman Aga took over the innings. He first added 79 runs with Saad Masood, then made important partnerships of 48 runs with Faheem Ashraf and 52 runs with Shaheen Afridi to bring Pakistan back into the match. Just when it seemed that Salman would lead the team to victory, he was out after scoring 106 runs in the 48th over.

thrill of the last overs

The excitement of the match reached its peak when Pakistan needed 28 runs to win in the last two overs. Shaheen Afridi gave hope to the Pakistani camp by hitting two sixes on the first three balls of Mustafizur Rahman, who came to bowl the 49th over. But Mustafizur made a brilliant comeback and dismissed Haris Rauf on the last ball of the over.

Pakistan needed 13 runs in the last over and Shaheen Afridi was present at the crease. But Rishad Hussain bowled tightly and Afridi could not play even a single big shot, due to which Pakistan team was limited to 279 runs and lost the match.
