Jai will play a home guard in Yeidhavan director Sakthi Rajasekaran ’ s untitled investigative crime thriller. “The film talks about a social issue and explores how a home guard solves a crime against all odds,” shares Sakthi. Interestingly, the film doesn’t feature a female lead or songs.
“The script didn’t demand them. A lot of heroes and production houses to whom I narrated the script questioned it. But I was clear that I wanted to work with people who understood why that was the case,” he states, adding, “Jai sir was completely understanding. He felt that this would be new for him because he has mainly done family dramas so far. I also needed a familiar face to carry the script.” Though the film doesn’t feature songs, Sakthi states that it’ll be a “background score-oriented film with an offbeat but commercial treatment”. Britto Michael composes the music for the film, while Sree Saravanan is the DOP. The filming begins in May.
