Himayani Puri, daughter of Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, has filed a defamation case in the Delhi High Court. In this lawsuit, she has demanded the removal of online material linking her father’s alleged relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, calling it “false, malicious and defamatory.” Along with this, he has also demanded compensation of Rs 10 crore.

Himayani Puri has said that numerous online posts, videos and news reports falsely allege that she is connected to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein or his criminal activities. He has demanded from the court that all these materials should be removed from online platforms.

Hardeep Puri’s daughter filed defamation case in High Court

Hardeep Puri’s daughter Himayani Puri has filed a defamation suit of Rs 10 crore in the Delhi High Court, terming the allegations being made against her father on online media and social media as false. She said numerous online posts, videos and news reports are making false allegations against her, claiming to link her to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein or his criminal activities. The petition said that from February 22 this year, allegations started being made against Himayani Puri on social media that she had direct or indirect financial, business or personal connection with Epstein or his criminal activities. Himayani Puri told the court that all these allegations are false and are damaging her personal and professional respect.

Demand to remove all content

He has demanded from the court that all these materials should be immediately removed from online platforms. In the lawsuit, Himayani has demanded damages of Rs 10 crore. Also, he has sought direction to other social media companies including X, Google, Meta and LinkedIn to immediately remove such defamatory posts that come to their notice in future. Himayani Puri has termed all these allegations as completely baseless, false and malicious. He has said that these things are being spread to harm his father’s political reputation and they have no factual basis. The case is likely to be heard on Tuesday.
