According to reports, the team’s regular captain Pat Cummins has been out of the first few matches of the 19th season of IPL. Cummins has a back injury, due to which he has been ruled out of the initial matches of IPL 2026. Let us tell you that Pat Cummins suffered a back injury during the West Indies tour last year in September 2025, due to which he was ruled out of the first and last matches of the Ashes series against England. After this, Pat Cummins was not a part of Australia in the T20 World Cup 2026. Pat Cummins has problem of Lumbar Bone Stress. Now it remains to be seen when Pat Cummins returns.
Abhishek Sharma will captain Sunrisers Hyderabad
In the absence of Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma can be seen captaining Sunrisers Hyderabad. Let us tell you that Abhishek does not have any experience of captaincy in IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad schedule in IPL 2026
IPL 2026 will start from March 28. The first match of the series will be played between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both the teams will face each other at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After this, SRH will play its second match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2 at Eden Gardens. Whereas in the third match, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Lucknow Super Giants on 4th April. This match will be played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. After this, in the fourth match, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Punjab Kings in a double header match on 11th April. This match will be played at Mullanpur, the home ground of Punjab Kings.
