Cancer Treatment Innovation: Artificial Intelligence is no longer limited to just the field of technology; It is now bringing big changes in medical science also. A recent case emerging from Australia is attracting the attention of the whole world. A tech expert has claimed that he has found a cure for his pet dog’s cancer with the help of AI.
Australian tech professional Paul Cunningham ChatGPT And using advanced AI tools like AlphaFold, he created a personalized mRNA vaccine for his dog. Surprisingly, after giving this vaccine, the size of the dog’s tumor reduced by almost half. This story is becoming increasingly viral on social media and is sparking a new debate about the capabilities of AI.
Personalized cancer vaccine made with the help of AI
According to reports, Paul Cunningham’s pet bitch, “Rose,” Was suffering from cancer. The doctors had clearly said that he did not have much time left. However, instead of giving up, Paul decided to seek the help of AI.
He got ChatGPT to prepare a plan to create a personalized mRNA vaccine for dog cancer. After this, using scientific research and genomic data, they started the process of creating a vaccine.
Clue to treatment found through DNA sequencing
The next important step in the treatment process was to understand the genes of the tumor. For this, Paul took a sample of the dog’s tumor and got its DNA sequenced. For this work, he contacted the UNSW Ramaciotti Center for Genomics.
Once the DNA data was obtained, it was analyzed using different algorithms and data pipelines. This process allowed the identification of specific genetic mutations responsible for cancer. Based on this information, a blueprint for a specific mRNA vaccine was prepared.
Half of the tumor remained after treatment
According to media reports, this treatment was started around Christmas last year. Its effect became visible in a very short time, and the size of the dog’s tumor reduced by about 50 percent.
However, according to Paul, making the vaccine was not the most difficult task; Rather, obtaining ethical approval for it proved to be a greater challenge. He said that to get permission for the drug trial in Australia, he had to work hard for about three months and prepare a document of about 100 pages.
Tech giants react to AI research
Many well-known personalities from the tech industry have given their reactions to this spectacular event. Greg Brockman called this an example of effective use of AI. Writing on
At the same time, Demis Hassabis said that technologies like AlphaFold indicate the beginning of the future of digital biology. Apart from this, Arvind Srinivas also believed that in the coming times, biological research based on AI can give a new direction to the world.
