Mystery as Mike Tindall and his rugby co-stars quietly shut down company

Mike Tindall's company has applied to be dissolved, new Companies House documents show. Mike is one of three directors at BigJam Productions Limited, which has produced his well-known rugby podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, since its launch in 2020.

Although the radio broadcasting company is not solely owned by Mike, it has applied to be struck off the register, meaning it will soon be formally dissolved if no objection is raised.

The Princess Royal's son-in-law hosts the show alongside fellow former rugby international James Haskell and prominent rugby broadcaster Alex Payne. While the show focuses on the sport itself, Mike often shares royal snippets or a behind-the-scenes look at his involvement in royal events.

The most recent accounts available for BigJam Productions on Companies House are from June 2024. They show that the company held £45,168 in its profit and loss reserves, a slight decrease from £49,408 in 2023. Although the official documents state that the directors elected not to include a copy of the profit and loss account in the financial statements published.

There is no suggestion that The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast will end as a result of the decision, as the show is separately listed on Companies House as an active company, of which Mike is a director, along with his two co-hosts and four other individuals.

The news that the company will soon be struck off comes after Mike recently sparked controversy for wearing a 'MAGA-style' hat on an episode of the podcast.

While the discussion of England's thumping loss to Ireland in the Six Nations sparked controversy on social media, Mike's red hat also drew attention from listeners. The statement boldly reads 'Make England Great Again' in white stitching, with people comparing it to US President Donald Trump's infamous slogan 'Make America Great Again,' also known as MAGA.

Taking to social media, one royal fan wrote: "Princess Anne's son-in-law, Mike Tindall, wearing a 'Make England Great Again' cap. People excusing this as "rugby" connected. I did NOT look at that and think "rugby", I thought MAGA. This isn't a good look coming from the Royal Family- pretty low."

Another account was left unimpressed as they wrote: "Why is Princess Anne's son-in-law wearing a MAGA-looking hat? That's kinda weird, no?"

Mike, who married the Princess Royal's daughter, Zara, in 2011, previously managed to get three of his royal relatives to appear on a special episode of the podcast, filmed at Windsor Castle. Princess Anne joined the Prince and Princess of Wales for the show as they all reflected on their passion for rugby.

At one point, Prince William told the group, "I played at school. I loved it, and..." Catherine then quickly interrupted and playfully asked: "Did you? Did you?" Prompting hysterics from the group, one co-host said to the Princess: "You said you weren't competitive!"

Princess Anne then interjected, saying, "That was just the question; never mind the answer!" To which William replied that he was trying to be polite, so held back what he really wanted to reply.
