Gautam Gambhir said after winning the T20 World Cup, “Everyone has the right to make mistakes”

New Delhi: Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir gave a clear answer to the critics after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. In a recent interview he said that everyone makes mistakes and everyone has the right to admit it.

‘Taking decisions in sports is not easy’

According to Gambhir, decision making in sports is sometimes challenging. He told that everyone from players to coaches make mistakes. If the intention of a decision is right, it should be taken as a lesson. He was of the opinion that there is no room for decisions taken with wrong intentions.

‘Fully supported the players’

Talking about supporting the players, Gautam Gambhir said that one should not lose faith on the basis of poor form of any player. Giving an example, he said that both Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma were not in good form before the tournament, yet he expressed confidence in them. Along with this, he gave Sanju Samson the opportunity to open in place of Ishan Kishan, where he performed brilliantly.

‘It is a matter of pride to win a medal’

After winning the T20 World Cup, Gambhir now has his eyes set on the Olympics. He said that cricket has been included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and the Indian team is considered a strong contender for it. Gambhir also said that playing in the Olympics for the country and winning a medal would be a matter of pride for any player or coach.
