Uttar Pradesh Anti Terror Squad (UP ATS) has arrested a 19-year-old terrorist associated with ISIS from Moradabad. The accused is a second year BDS student and was in contact with ISIS handlers sitting in other countries including Pakistan. According to the police, the accused used to recruit people by creating groups through Instagram and other apps and shared ISIS material and terrorist information with them.
Sharia based caliphate plan
The accused wanted to establish a Sharia-based caliphate in India by linking people with the jihadi ideology of ISIS. For this, he created groups on social media and connected people and shared ISIS’s propaganda material, ideological ideas and instructions. Haris was trying to carry out major terrorist conspiracies in India through his network.

Haris had created ISIS-supported groups on Instagram under different names and through VPN. He used to share the content of ISIS media channels and magazine “Dabiq”. Apart from this, he also formed his own group “Al Ittihad Media Foundation”. Haris’ network was linked to ISIS handlers in India and abroad.
Democratic system is not recognized
Haris did not recognize democracy and planned to establish a caliphate system by implementing Sharia law. He was also inspiring people of the groups to carry out suicide attacks. The accused has now been produced in the court and investigation of other people associated with him is also going on.
