Delhi: A bad news is coming for the fans of Bangladesh cricket team. Actually, Bangladesh Cricket Board is facing the threat of ban by ICC. BCB has sought help from its government to avoid the ban. The Board has requested its government to withdraw the order in which it was stated that the elections of the Board will be investigated by them.
ICC may ban Bangladesh Cricket Board
There has been a lot of discussion about BCB’s internal administrative disputes for some time now. There is every hope that ICC would also be keeping an eye on this. To calm this matter, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has asked the sports authorities of the country to close the committee which has been formed to investigate the irregularities in the BCB elections in 2025.
Let us tell you that the Sports Council of Bangladesh Government had constituted this committee on March 11 and it was ordered to submit the report of its investigation within 15 days. The job of this committee was to thoroughly investigate every irregularity and manipulation that took place during the elections.
After these elections held in BCB, Aminul Islam was appointed the President of the Board. At the same time, Asaduzzaman was elected the chief of this panel, while one officer each from government, police, media and law was also selected in it.
Tamim Iqbal had raised the demand for investigation
After the completion of the elections, there was a demand for investigation into the irregularities in it. The team’s former veteran batsman Tamim Iqbal was also in favor of getting the investigation done. Apart from them, 50 out of 76 clubs of Dhaka had also agreed to get the investigation done.
What did BCB say in its statement?
BCB said that all the officials have been elected after the elections. If there is interference in our work, then the matter will go to ICC and if ICC feels that democracy is not going on here, then concerns to ban or governance on Bangladeshi cricket may increase.
