A 28-year-old man lost his life while allegedly filming a stunt video involving a firearm in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar.

According to police officials, the deceased, identified as Pawan Kumar, was recording a video when the incident occurred. During the shoot, he reportedly loaded the magazine, placed the gun on his chest, and pulled the trigger. The bullet struck his heart, leading to his instant death.

The incident came to light on March 16 when Dharamshila Hospital informed the police about a youth admitted with a gunshot wound. A police team rushed to the hospital, where Pawan Kumar was declared dead.

Investigations revealed that the incident took place in Dallupura village. Crime and forensic teams inspected both the location and the hospital, gathering key evidence.

Preliminary findings suggest that Pawan used a licensed pistol belonging to his cousin, Himanshu, who was present at the scene and was reportedly recording the video at the time of the incident.

Police have seized the weapon, 10 live cartridges, and a mobile phone containing footage of the incident. The video reportedly shows the victim handling the firearm himself.

A case has been registered under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
