Fashion retailer Uniqlo has revealed when its inaugural South West store will launch as part of an ambitious expansion and refurbishment strategy. The outlet will open at Bristol's Cabot Circus next month, stocking all of the brand's signature staples and popular pieces from its spring-summer range.

Uniqlo will welcome shoppers on Thursday, April 16, according to The Retail Bulletin. The brand is also preparing to launch its first Leeds location, though an opening date is yet to be confirmed.

For those in the capital, the company has also transformed its Covent Garden site with a newly refurbished store, reports the Express. Uniqlo Covent Garden will begin trading at 10am on Thursday, March 26.

The Retail Bulletin reports that the new Bristol branch will include a UTme! Station where shoppers can design their own bespoke prints for T-shirts and tote bags. Exclusive designs will also be available solely in Bristol.

Shoppers will additionally be able to recycle, repair or reimagine their existing Uniqlo garments through its Re.Uniqlo service.

Alessandro Dudech, chief operating officer at Uniqlo UK, said: "We are delighted to be opening our first South West store here in Bristol, a city renowned for its creativity and strong sense of community.

"Bringing Uniqlo's LifeWear to Bristol in a bricks and mortar setting is a meaningly step for us. We look forward to offering thoughtfully designed, high-quality clothing that reflects the needs of this dynamic city."

Recent inaugurations of Uniqlo outlets include the Uniqlo Bullring in Birmingham, Uniqlo Glasgow on Argyle Street, and Uniqlo Liverpool situated in Liverpool ONE on Paradise Street.
