These days, controversies are being seen in the politics of Himachal Pradesh regarding political appointments. In fact, BJP has alleged that the Congress government is busy in benefiting its leaders by ignoring the problems of the people. This is also affecting the economic condition of the state.

In fact, BJP state spokesperson Sandipani Bhardwaj has said that on one hand the general public is struggling with inflation and unemployment, while on the other hand the government is making large-scale appointments in boards, corporations and commissions.

Why are questions being raised on appointments?

Sandipani Bhardwaj has claimed that the honorarium on these posts has been increased from Rs 30 thousand to Rs 80 thousand per month. With this, by adding other allowances, this amount reaches more than Rs 1 lakh. According to him, about 40 chairmen and vice-chairmen have been appointed by March 2026. Actually, political appointments have always been a topic of discussion in Himachal Pradesh, but this time the matter has become more heated because the state is already under economic pressure.

Claim to give many posts up to cabinet rank

In fact, BJP says that as soon as the government came to power, it started appointing its supporters to various posts. These include many posts like consultant, OSD, media and IT consultant. Apart from this, it has also been alleged that many of these posts have been given up to cabinet rank, due to which the government expenditure further increased. Apart from this, appointments have also been made in Cooperative Bank, Tourism Board, Industrial Development Corporation and various commissions. BJP claims that these steps have been taken to please the party people rather than to create political balance.
