Armed police have swarmed streets in Sheffield in a huge emergency services response, with locals urged to "avoid the area". Police said they are are responding to reports of a "suspicious device" being found at a property in Washington Road, Sharrow. A huge cordon has been put in place, with people pushed back.
Sheffield South West NPT said: "We are currently responding to an incident at a residential property on Washington Road, Sheffield. It follows reports that there may be a suspicious device within the property. Emergency services are in attendance and a 100m cordon has been put in place as a precaution. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area. Further updates will be published here as soon as they are available."
