National League South outfit Dagenham and Redbridge have dismissed manager Lee Bradbury, marking the first significant decision made by YouTuber-turned-media personality KSI. Former England, Liverpool and Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll has been appointed as interim manager.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, was unveiled as a minority shareholder of the ex-Football League club at the start of March. Merely two weeks later, Bradbury has been released from his role at the Daggers after a seven-month tenure. The move arrives with the club six points adrift of the playoffs and less than 24 hours after a 3-2 victory away at Farnborough.
In a statement, the club declared: "Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club can confirm that we have parted company with First-Team Manager, Lee Bradbury.
"We are very grateful to Lee for his focus, professionalism, and commitment during his time at the Club and for his contributions, both on and off the pitch, to stabilise the club last summer.
"Dagenham and Redbridge wish him every success in his future endeavours. Andy Carroll will take the team on an interim basis, and further updates will be communicated in due course."
Carroll has made 248 Premier League appearances, netting 54 goals throughout a career that includes stints at Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham United.
The 37-year-old became Dagenham and Redbridge's key player after signing in July, but it has since been revealed that he has become one of their newest shareholders.
Veteran Carroll has played 12 times and scored six goals for the Daggers in the National League South so far this season.
He has not played since mid-December but for their next match, at home to Torquay United on Saturday, will be in the dugout rather than leading the line.
