Government Approves Major Highway Project to Boost Employment in Uttar Pradesh

In a recent cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the construction of a four-lane access-controlled National Highway-927 from Barabanki to Bahraich has been approved. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that this 101.515-kilometer highway will be built at a cost of ₹6,969.04 crores under a hybrid annuity model.


Project Expected to Create Job Opportunities This Project Will Generate Employment

The project includes a civil cost of approximately ₹3,485.49 crores, along with an additional ₹1,574.85 crores for land acquisition.


It is anticipated that this initiative will create around 3.654 million direct and 4.304 million indirect job opportunities.


The proposed upgrades for the Barabanki-Bahraich segment aim to address geometric deficiencies, sharp turns, and congestion issues in the urban areas of both districts.


Upon completion, this project will establish a significant cross-border trade and transit corridor between India and Nepal via the Nepalganj border, significantly improving access to the Rupaidiah Land Port.


Grand Plan for Industrial Development ₹33,660 Crore Industrial Development Scheme Approved

The government has also approved a grand scheme worth ₹33,660 crores for the development of 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across the country.


Vaishnaw informed reporters about the cabinet's decisions, stating that the aim of this scheme is to develop world-class industrial infrastructure, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and accelerate India's growth.


During the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi, this ambitious plan was approved, with an expectation of creating approximately 1.5 million direct jobs.


Under this initiative, industrial parks ranging from 100 to 1,000 acres will be developed with financial assistance of up to ₹1 crore per acre.
