Will Kirk found himself astonished during the latest instalment of The Repair Shop after learning an item had a remarkable connection to Beatles icon Ringo Starr.
As the BBC programme began, viewers were introduced to Gary Miles from North Wales, who had brought along his guitar for restoration.
Revealing it was the first electric guitar he ever owned, Gary explained toWill and Julyan Wallis that his father purchased it for him when he was 14 years old.
He told the pair: "My dad was a musician in Liverpool, and he had the real deal, the proper Les Paul Custom. That was very expensive, if it was out, I'd pick it up. He'd always say 'Careful' and I used to play it quite a bit."
Gary revealed that when his father recognised his passion for music, it wasn't long before he bought him an electric guitar, reports theLiverpool Echo.
Providing further details about his father, Eddie Miles, Gary explained that his dad began performing in the late 1950s and had been part of a skiffle band.
He revealed: "He (his dad) was the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group. Of which the drummer happened to be a certain Ringo Starr. So they played together for about four, five years.
"Then Ringo went off and joined a little band called The Beatles, who did rather well for themselves! When you walk up Mathew Street, where the Cavern is, you've got like a big wall outside a little café.
"It's got all the names of the bands who played there over the years, The Rolling Stones, Clapton, they're all on there."
Gary revealed that the name of his father's band is also inscribed on the same wall. Regarding the item he wished to have repaired, Gary informed the experts that the electrics were faulty and a piece of wood was missing from the top.
Hoping for it to be mended and passed on to his son, he told Will and Julyan: "It would be amazing to watch Ev play it. If I can pass that to him, it's like, well, I know you never met grandad, but this is what I got from grandad."
Ultimately, the duo managed to restore the electric guitar for Gary, who was astounded by the final outcome.
Upon its reveal, he was overwhelmed with emotion, wiping away a tear as he exclaimed: "Wow, that's just how I imagined it. It looks brilliant, thank you."
Expressing his eagerness to play the instrument and teach his son, Gary quickly gave it a whirl before departing the workshop.
