Wear clean and elegant clothes before starting the rituals dedicated to Maa Shailputri.
Gather all the essential puja samagri such as flowers, fruits, kumkum (vermilion), paan, supari, elaichi, coconut, incense sticks, Gangajal, earthen diya, desi cow ghee, and shringaar items for Maa Shailputri worship.
Place an idol or image of Maa Shailputri (a form of Goddess Durga) on a wooden plank and purify it with Gangajal.
Offer kumkum, light a diya with desi ghee, and decorate the idol of Maa Shailputri with garlands and shringaar. Also offer paan, supari, laung, elaichi, and five types of seasonal fruits.
Set up a sacred kalash decorated with red Kalawa thread and mango leaves, placing a coconut on top as part of the Maa Shailputri puja ritual.
Fill an earthen pot with soil and sow Jawar (barley seeds), symbolizing growth and prosperity during Maa Shailputri Navratri worship. Cover it lightly and sprinkle water daily.
Chant Durga mantras to invoke blessings of Maa Shailputri, and offer lotus and hibiscus flowers while reciting the Durga Saptashati.
Perform Maa Shailputri Aarti with full devotion before concluding the puja.
Devotees break their fast after worship, often with vrat-friendly foods like fried potatoes, sabudana tikki, and sama kheer.
