Mumbai: Telugu drama Ustaad Bhagat Singh, featuring Pawan Kalyan, was released today, on March 19. The movie helmed by Harish Shankar clashed with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Netizens took to X to share their first reactions to the film. Pawan Kalyan earned the appreciation of the audience for his charm onscreen, but others opined that the film lacked freshness.

“Pawan looks impressive, brings back some of his signature mannerisms, and even delivers a few energetic dance moves that fans will enjoy. There are plenty of one-liners aimed at pleasing his mass audience. However, the biggest drawback lies in the film’s outdated core. The mass elements feel highly predictable (sic),” said one user.

Another individual commented, “#UstaadBhagatSingh – PK’s look, Screen presence & Dialogues are the positives in this Routine, Outdated Drama. Parthiban Naidu as weak villain. Sreeleela ok. Raashi Khanna has no scope. Thaman does a Anirudh work in BGM. One melody track nice. Narration is a Patience Tester. BORE!”

Many opined that it was a decent entertainer and did not deliver anything memorable. “Overall, it’s a good decent commercial entertainer. PK screen presence excellent,” said one netizen.

“Went with no hype, but not bad first half. It’s your routine template mass film, but watchable. Decent outcome strictly from direction and visuals from HS in a long time. Masses will like pre-interval to interval sequences. PK fans will like his characterisation,” said another.
