Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: BJP releases list of 39 new candidates, tickets to total 13 women, know complete updates

Kerala. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has today released its second list of 39 candidates for the Kerala Assembly elections. So far the party has announced a total of 86 candidates. A total of six women have been fielded in this list. By combining both the lists, BJP has so far given tickets to 13 women.

Tickets for central and senior leaders-
The BJP has fielded former BJP president and former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan from Aranmula. Rajasekaran had contested the 2021 elections from Nemom, where incumbent Education Minister V. Sivankutty emerged victorious.

Senior BJP leader B. Gopalakrishnan will contest from Guruvayoor. K from Dharamdom. Ranjit has got the ticket where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is in the fray.

Former MLA joined CPI-
Former CPI MLA from SC reserved seat Nattika in Thrissur, C.C. Mukundan has been made the candidate by BJP. Mukundan had recently left CPI due to not getting a seat.

Social media and TV faces also get a chance-
BJP has fielded social media influencer and Bigg Boss contestant Robin Radhakrishnan from Kundara seat in Kollam.

Voting and result dates-
Voting for 140 assembly seats in Kerala will take place on April 9, 2026, and the results will be declared on May 4, 2026.

BJP has adopted a strategy to further strengthen its electoral strength in the state through this list, in which senior leaders, former MLAs and social media influencers have all been included.
