Bearded Bella at Singapore’s Craig Road closed its doors on Wednesday, ending an eight-year run serving coffee and brunch in the heart of Tanjong Pagar.

The Melbourne-inspired café announced the decision in an Instagram post, describing the closure as “the end of an era” after years of offering quality coffee, comforting food and a casual hangout space for customers, Asia One reported.

The team shared that the past year had been challenging, and with their lease coming to an abrupt end, they were no longer able to continue operating the business, Mothership reported.

Netizens flooded the comments section with messages of sadness and gratitude, as many reflected on their memories of the café.

One user shared that it held a special place in her love story, revealing that it had once served as the holding area for her wedding.

Founded in 2018, the café built a loyal following for its specialty brews, house-made bakes and all-day brunch menu. It was also known for its pet-friendly outdoor courtyard, where diners could enjoy meals alongside their furry companions.

Singapore has seen a series of restaurant closures recently.

Singaporean restaurant Lolla at Ann Siang Hill closed after its final service on Feb. 14.

Several Kith Cafe outlets have closed over the past few months, including the West Coast outlet, which shut on Monday.

Pizza Express closed some of its outlets in December 2025, retaining only its Star Vista and Duo Galleria outlets.

According to statistics from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, 3,148 food businesses ceased operations in the city state in 2025, up from 3,047 in 2024.
