IPL 2026: Top 4 Overseas Players Who Could Fire for Rajasthan Royals
Cricket Gully | March 19, 2026 7:39 PM CST

Rajasthan Royals (RR) boasts an impressive lineup of Indian batters, featuring talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and their newly appointed full-time captain, Riyan Parag. With such a strong Indian batting core, the team is well-equipped to handle the absence of Sanju Samson, who has been traded to Chennai Super Kings ahead of the upcoming season.

When a team has such a solid Indian foundation, the contributions of overseas players become even more crucial. These international stars need to work in harmony with their Indian teammates, and RR’s roster is more than capable of achieving that. From explosive batters to dynamic bowlers, RR fans have plenty to be excited about as they gear up for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer is gradually becoming a key figure for RR as he gears up for his fifth season with the Jaipur-based team. The left-handed batsman is expected to step up as a finisher in RR’s already impressive top and middle order. With a lineup full of star players, Hetmyer might not be in the spotlight as much heading into the 2026 IPL. Nevertheless, his contribution will be crucial for RR’s playoff aspirations this season.

Last year, Hetmyer played in all 14 matches, amassing 239 runs with a striking strike rate of 145.73. But what should really get RR fans buzzing is his performance in the T20 World Cup. The 29-year-old racked up 248 runs at an average of 41, with an astonishing strike rate of over 185.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer’s recent performances for England show that while he consistently takes wickets, he’s been a bit on the pricey side for his own standards. Still, there’s no doubt about his talent, especially when it comes to using the new ball during the powerplay.

Currently, in his second stint with RR, Archer has played 12 matches in the 2025 IPL season, claiming 11 wickets along the way. At 30 years old, he’s not without competition for a spot in the lineup and to spearhead the fast bowling attack. RR also boasts Nandre Burger, another bowler who can easily hit the high 140s.

Donovon Ferreira

Donovon Ferreira is a powerhouse in the middle order, adding depth to the RR squad as a versatile all-rounder. At just 27, he’s not only a capable batter but also a wicketkeeper. He showcased his skills with the Johannesburg Super Kings in the SA20, where he took five wickets and racked up 103 runs at an impressive strike rate of 171.66.

But that’s not all, his performance in the Hundred competition was even more remarkable. He played for the title-winning Oval Invincibles, scoring 181 runs at a jaw-dropping strike rate of over 235 across nine matches. It’s interesting to note that Ferreira was part of the RR squad back in 2024, although he only got to play twice for the franchise.

Sam Curran

Sam Curran has made quite the trek from Chennai to Rajasthan, joining forces with Ravindra Jadeja in a trade that sent Samson the other way. The England all-rounder has been on fire in T20 cricket lately, solidifying his spot in the English squad. He’s found a sweet spot batting at six and bowling during the middle overs, and his medium pace could really come in handy for RR in 2026.

When it comes to franchise cricket, the English cricketer is also shining bright. The left-hander led the Desert Vipers to their first-ever ILT20 title in late 2025, earning the title of Player of the Series for his outstanding all-around performance, racking up the most runs in the tournament with 397 and taking seven wickets.
