Saleh Mohammadi Hanged: The Islamic government of Iran has given death sentence to Saleh Mohammadi by hanging. Saleh Mohammadi, 19, was a rising Iranian wrestler who was arrested on January 8, 2026, during anti-government protests. Saleh Mohammadi was given death sentence by hanging in Qom on 19 March 2026. Along with the young Iranian wrestler, two more people – Saeed Davodi and Mehdi Ghasemi – were also hanged. These teams were accused of killing two policemen.
Saleh Mohammadi had won the bronze medal in 2024
Saleh Mohammadi represented Iran at the international level and won a medal in the 2024 Satiyev Cup Freestyle Wrestling Competition held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
