Mumbai. Domestic stock markets Sensex and Nifty registered a rise in early trading on Friday. BSE Sensex rose 976.77 points to 75,184.01 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 301.7 points to 23,303.85.
Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Tata Steel, State Bank of India, Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Power Grid and NTPC rose. Only HDFC Bank shares recorded a decline.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and China’s SSE Composite advanced while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined. US markets closed with a negative trend on Thursday. The price of international standard Brent crude fell by 1.63 percent to $ 106.9 per barrel.
According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were offloading on Thursday and sold shares worth Rs 7,558.19 crore. However, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 3,863.96 crore.
