After his brilliant performance in the T20 World Cup, Indian cricketer Sanju Samson is being praised everywhere. In this context, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also praised Samson and described him as “the biggest product of Vizhinjam”.

Shashi Tharoor said that Sanju Samson is a very humble, focused and excellent player. He said that his community also has a big contribution in the success of Samson. Tharoor said, today even though Vizhinjam is known for a big port, its biggest export is Sanju Samson.

In the T20 World Cup, Sanju Samson batted brilliantly and scored 321 runs in 5 innings. During this period his average was 80.25 and strike rate was 199.37. He hit 27 fours and 24 sixes and became the third highest run scorer in the tournament. The special thing was that he left behind Virat Kohli’s record of 319 runs in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

Tharoor told that he knew Samson since he was 14 years old. He said, “I had already said that this boy will become the next MS Dhoni. But later Gautam Gambhir rightly said that he will not be anyone’s second but the first and only Sanju Samson.”

Tharoor described Sanju Samson’s performance as “poetry in motion”. He said that the calm and composed manner in which Samson batted in the last matches of the World Cup was worth seeing.

Regarding the future, Tharoor expressed hope that Samson should get a chance to return to the ODI team soon. He said that his last ODI innings was a century, yet he was dropped. Now he should get a chance again, be it ODI or Test cricket.

This brilliant comeback and performance of Sanju Samson has made him one of the future big stars of Indian cricket.
