Davanagere: Political activity has intensified in the Davanagere South Assembly constituency following the announcement of the by-election, with internal differences emerging within the BJP after the party declared its candidate.
Soon after the ticket announcement, former minister M.P. Renukacharya expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the party leadership should have held discussions with all stakeholders before finalising the candidate. He said the decision was taken without proper consultation.
However, a day earlier in Bengaluru, Renukacharya had stated that he would abide by the high command’s decision and work for the party’s victory.
The BJP has announced Srinivas Dasakariyappa, a Scheduled Caste leader, as its candidate for the Davanagere South by-election.
