To address the shortage of cooking gas and long queues, Bharat Petroleum has launched an "LPG ATM" in Gurugram. This pilot project offers 24-hour gas refills.

What is LPG ATM?

The primary objective of this Bharat Gas facility is to provide uninterrupted gas supply to the public 24 hours a day. Just as we use ATMs for cash, people will now be able to refill their gas as needed.

This technology will prove to be a boon for those who have faced problems when their gas suddenly runs out. This feature will not only save time but also eliminate the old hassles of gas booking.

It's worth noting that the LPG ATM is a fully digital and self-operating machine, making gas refills extremely easy. To use it, you'll first need to enter your mobile number on the machine, which will then be verified using an OTP received on your phone. This number will be pre-registered.

Now you need to scan the empty cylinder's QR code and pay via UPI or card. Once the payment is successful, the machine will accept your empty cylinder, and you'll receive a new filled cylinder within just 2-3 minutes.

The LPG ATM's working method is unique. This machine has the capacity to hold 10 cylinders at a time. Its unique feature is that as soon as the stock runs low, the system automatically sends an alert to the nearest gas agency, ensuring timely refills and never interrupting the supply.

This facility is available to Bharat Gas customers as a pilot project. If the trial is successful, it could be expanded to other cities. The ATM's biggest advantage is that it dispenses composite cylinders made of fiber instead of heavy iron cylinders. They are very light in weight (approximately 15 kg) and rust-free. Furthermore, their transparent bodies allow you to see the remaining gas from the outside.
