New Delhi: While Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 is setting new records of success at the box office, on one hand it is garnering applause from the audience, on the other hand it has also come under criticism. Released in theaters on March 19, the film created a sensation by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark on the very first day, but now former Lok Sabha MP and famous actress Ramya (Divya Spandana) has opened a front against the film. Ramya has not only rejected the film outright, but has also advised fans not to watch it in theaters to save their precious time and money.
Ramya shared a lengthy post on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) expressing her extreme disappointment with the film. He described “Dhurandhar 2” as a ‘boring subject’ and said that it is like reading a textbook on a boring subject whose chapters never end. According to Ramya, there comes a time while watching a film when the viewer’s mind gives up and starts laughing out of frustration after seeing the ‘horror’ happening on the screen. He clearly said that this content is not for theaters, but for streaming platforms, where it can be stopped with a single click.
Attacking the technical aspects of the film, Ramya described the direction, dialogues, editing and background score as very poor. He even said that looking at the film, it seems as if the team had no idea of the release deadline and whatever was hurriedly presented to the audience. Comparing it with the first part, he wrote that while in ‘Dhurandhar Part 1’ the cinema halls were echoing with applause and whistles, in this part the disappointment of the audience can be clearly felt in the air of the hall.
Taking a dig at Ranveer Singh’s acting, Ramya said that people are saying that Ranveer has carried the film on his shoulders, whereas she saw more ‘hair’ in the film than Ranveer. According to him, Ranveer’s look and character had a soul in the first part, but this time he looked completely ineffective. He expressed maximum displeasure over the ‘creative violence’ shown in the film. Ramya called it a handbook of violence which is not needed in the society. At the end of the film, he directly targeted director Aditya Dhar and said, Ranveer, you are much better than this and Aditya Dhar, now the era of propaganda is over, get out of it.
