This woman experienced a tremendous shock when she discovered what her neighbours had abandoned after moving house. Relocating to a new property is an exhausting ordeal. You must gather all your possessions and load them into a vehicle, ensuring nothing gets forgotten, as there's a possibility you won't have another opportunity to retrieve them.
This becomes even more demanding when you've got children or animals, as they're unable to sort their own belongings, leaving you to handle everything for them. Discovering you've forgotten something at your previous residence can trigger genuine alarm, particularly if it's something crucial like your purse, or items such as groceries that might spoil before the next occupants arrive.
However, one woman on social media recently maintained her neighbours abandoned rather more than simply some milk in the refrigerator. In footage posted to TikTok, Jeeno explained her neighbours had recently been "kicked out" of their residence, and filmed the rear of their property from her garden, revealing the windows had been sealed with boards.

Shortly following their departure from the property, though, Jeeno started detecting sounds coming from their garden, and quickly discovered what they'd somehow abandoned at the residence - their pet cat.
She stated: "My neighbours got kicked out two days ago, and they left their cat behind."
Jeeno captured footage of herself feeding the cat chicken and creating a cosy spot in her garden with blankets and a cardboard box for it to rest. She was initially hesitant about bringing the cat indoors due to her existing pet dog, and reached out to the RSPCA for guidance.
Unable to receive an immediate visit from the RSPCA to assess the cat, Jeeno decided to "sneak" the feline into her home to avoid leaving it outside in the chilly night air.
The following day, Jeeno shared a second video updating her followers on the cat's situation. She revealed she had contacted Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, who advised her to check if the cat was microchipped, as this would determine whether it could be easily returned to its owners.
When the RSPCA visited Jeeno's home to examine the cat, they found it wasn't microchipped, classifying it as a stray. This led Jeeno to consult the council regarding their policy on stray cats.
However, upon discussing with the council and the RSPCA, Jeeno managed to obtain contact details for her neighbours, leading to a happy reunion between them and their lost pet.
She explained: "The council gave the RSPCA the contact details for my neighbours. They contacted them, and within a couple of hours, my neighbours came to my house and got the cat."
What to do if you find a lost or stray catIt can be hard to tell if a cat is a stray or simply an owned cat roaming around outside. The RSPCA states that as a charity with limited resources, it cannot respond to calls about healthy stray cats, and it will only help animals suffering from cruelty or neglect. However, they have shared some tips if you find a stray, feral, or lost cat:
- Check to see if the cat is wearing a collar or tag with the contact details of the owner - only approach if the cat is calm.
- Ask around locally. Cats roam over a wide area, and sometimes they can be mistaken for strays even when they have owners.
- Contact the local vet to scan for a microchip.
- Advertise on social media and ask around locally.
- Register the found cat on Animal Search UK.
If you cannot find an owner, you can rehome a stray cat yourself. If you're unable to keep the cat, a local animal rescue charity may be able to help, and the RSPCA recommends contacting reputable organisations such as local RSPCA animal centres or Cats Protection.
