A devastating accident occurred on Sunday night in Sonitpur district, Assam, when an ambulance collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of six individuals and injuring two others. This tragic incident paints a grim picture of human fate, as the ambulance, racing towards Tezpur Medical College with sirens blaring in hopes of saving lives, became a victim of fate on National Highway 15. The horrific crash not only claimed six precious lives on the spot but also plunged their families into deep shock, who were anxiously waiting for their loved ones' treatment.

According to Barun Purkayastha, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sonitpur, the ambulance was transporting a patient along with family members to Tezpur Medical College when the accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Dhekiajuli police station on National Highway 15. He confirmed, "Six people died at the scene, and two are critically injured and have been admitted to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital."

Emergency services and police arrived promptly at the accident site to initiate rescue operations. The officer also mentioned that traffic on the highway, which was disrupted due to the accident, has since been restored.
