The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has reached a consensus regarding the allocation of seats for the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on Monday. This agreement was finalized in the presence of Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), and Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister and election in-charge for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Other NDA leaders, including Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss, and TTV Dhinakaran, General Secretary of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), were also present during the signing at the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai.

According to the agreement, the BJP has been allocated 27 seats, which is an increase of seven compared to the seats it contested in the 2021 Tamil Nadu elections. The PMK and AMMK have been assigned 18 and 11 seats, respectively. In the previous elections, the AIADMK contested 179 seats and won 66. Despite this, the party is determined to contest the same number of seats again. A senior AIADMK leader mentioned last week that the party aims to secure a clear majority in the coastal state and is eager to contest as many seats as possible.

In response to repeated comments by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin regarding 'Delhi', Nainar Nagendran, the Tamil Nadu BJP president, asserted that the DMK leadership is 'trembling with fear' over the BJP's growing influence. He questioned why the Chief Minister is so apprehensive about 'Delhi', stating that whether meetings are held in Bengaluru or Delhi, the DMK appears to be in a state of panic. Defending the central government's contributions to the state, the BJP leader highlighted that the Modi government has sanctioned nearly ₹14 lakh crore for Tamil Nadu over the past decade.

Nagendran cited major infrastructure projects, such as the ₹350 crore expansion of the Tuticorin Airport and the ₹650 crore Tiruchirappalli Airport project, as evidence of the central government's commitment to the state's development. He sharply criticized the state government regarding the current law and order situation, urging the Chief Minister to focus on curbing drug trafficking and improving public safety instead of worrying about 'Delhi'.
