Nitish Kumar has been re-elected as the president of JD(U), with the formal certificate of election to be issued today by the Returning Officer, Shri Aneel Prasad Hedge (Ex MO, Rajya Sabha), at 2:30 PM, the party announced in a statement.
The re-election follows the conclusion of the nomination withdrawal period, in which only Shri Nitish Kumar remained in the fray, making him the sole candidate for the post.

The ceremony will see the presence of several senior party leaders, including Party Working President and Rajya Sabha Leader of the Parliamentary Party Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Bihar Minister Shri Shrawan Kumar, along with other prominent party functionaries. Their presence underscores the significance of the occasion and the unity within the party leadership.

Earlier, Multiple leaders of the Janata Dal (United) filed the nomination for the post of the party's president on behalf of Nitish Kumar, with him set to lead the party at the national level for the fourth consecutive term. The Rajya Sabha MP is currently in Delhi after being elected in the Upper House recently.
This formal declaration will mark the completion of the electoral process for Nitish Kumar, reaffirming his leadership of JD(U) and setting the stage for the party’s strategic planning and organisational activities ahead.
