Days after Zomato raised its platform fee, its rival Swiggy has increased the charge to ₹17.58 per order from ₹14.99 earlier, marking an increase of over 17%.
In a message at checkout, Swiggy said the revised fee will help it “operate and maintain” its platform.

Notably, Swiggy has revised the platform fee multiple times over the past year. In August last year, the food delivery company raised platform fee to ₹14 from ₹12 in select markets amid a surge in demand, before extending the hike more broadly. It increased the fee again to ₹14.99 in early September.
Platform fee is a flat charge levied on every food delivery order, on top of delivery charges, taxes and restaurant costs. Zomato and Swiggy have increased the platform fee steadily since introducing it ₹2 per order in 2023.
Last week, Zomato hiked its platform fee to ₹14.9 per order from ₹12.5 earlier.
The increase is expected to help the companies improve their margins at a time when they are spending heavily to expand their quick commerce verticals.
