What happens when a film becomes so popular that even a cricket legend can’t get a seat? That’s exactly what’s unfolding with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has taken the box office by storm since its release last week.
The sequel to last year’s blockbuster Dhurandhar has reportedly earned a massive ₹800 crore worldwide in just a short time. The craze around the film is so intense that tickets are nearly impossible to buy in many theatres.
Actor Rakesh Bedi, who plays the character Jameel Jamali in the film, recently shared a surprising encounter. He revealed that he met cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, a key member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team. Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that despite his efforts, he couldn’t get tickets for the film and asked Rakesh Bedi if he could help arrange some. Rakesh Bedi shared that he is trying his best to get tickets for him, reflecting just how high the demand is.

Talking about the film’s success, Rakesh Bedi expressed immense pride in being part of such a massive hit. He explained that the movie is not just performing well commercially but also receiving overwhelming love from audiences across India and even globally. According to him, the response, collections and excitement around the film are never seen before.
However, amid all the celebration, Rakesh Bedi made an important appeal to viewers. He urged fans not to record scenes from the movie while watching it in theatres or share clips on social media. He especially requested people to avoid revealing key moments, including the climax, as it spoils the experience for others.

He emphasised that while audiences may enjoy capturing moments, it’s important to let others experience the film fresh, without spoilers.
With packed theatres, record-breaking earnings and unmatched buzz, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has clearly become more than just a film, it’s a nationwide phenomenon.
