Chaitra Navratri 2026 : On the Ashtami day of Navratri, small girls are called for Kanya Bhojan. In such a situation, the chickpea prepared on this day has to be prepared without onion and garlic. But do you know that chickpea curry is very tasty even without garlic and onion. So let us know the quick recipe of Satvik Chole for Kanya Puja.

Material

Chickpea -1 cup (soaked overnight)
Tomato -2(make puree)
Ginger -1 small piece (grated)
Green chilly -2(finely chopped)
oil or ghee-2–3 tbsp
Cumin-1 tbsp
Asafoetida-1/2 tsp
coriander powder-1 tbsp
Turmeric-1/2 tsp
chilli powder-1 tbsp
garam masala-1 tbsp
dry mango powder-1 tbsp
Salt -as per taste
green coriander (for garnish)

Method

1- First of all, add salt and water to the soaked gram in the cooker and boil for 4-5 whistles. Heat oil or ghee in the pan. Add cumin seeds in it, then add asafoetida.

2- Now add grated ginger and green chillies and fry lightly. Add tomato puree and cook well until the oil starts separating from the spices.

3-Now add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli and fry for 1–2 minutes. Add boiled gram (with some water) and mix well.

4- Add garam masala and dry mango powder and cook on low flame for 5-10 minutes. Add green coriander on top and serve hot. Feed these satvik chickpeas with puri, halwa and semolina halwa to the girls.
