Delhi Budget 2026: CM Rekha Gupta has presented Delhi Budget-2026. The Chief Minister presented his second annual budget on 24 March. In the budget, CM Rekha Gupta opened the box of many free schemes including bicycles for 9th class students and laptops for 10th class students. Focusing on ‘Green Lens’, the Delhi government made many big announcements in its historic budget, from infrastructure to education. Along with striking a balance between development and environment, Rekha Gupta has also announced huge funds for MCD and Water Board. Also presented the agenda of cleaning Yamuna.

In the budget of Rs 1,03,700 crore, Rekha Gupta for the first time has given Rs 11,666 crore to MCD and Rs 9,000 crore to Delhi Jal Board. Rekha Gupta told the House that Delhi has reached third place in the entire country in terms of per capita income. Last year we presented a historic budget of Rs 1 lakh crore.

Delhi government has made big announcements to promote technology and facilities in the education sector. Every girl student of class IX in government schools will be given a bicycle as a gift, while meritorious students of class X will be given laptops. Apart from this, smart boards will be installed in 8,777 classes, for which a fund of Rs 150 crore has been allocated under the Smart Class Project. These steps are in line with the Prime Minister’s ‘4-S’ vision (Speed, Skill, Strength, Scale) of enhancing the skills and strengths of students.

Women and transgenders will get e-auto permits

CM Rekha Gupta said that women auto drivers faced problems because the permit was not in their name. Drives auto on rent. E-auto permits will be given to 1 thousand women. 100 transgenders will also get its benefit. It has been announced in the budget that Mahila Haat will be opened in Delhi. There will be an allocation of Rs 10 crore through self-help groups. The name of the Haat will be ‘Rani Haat’. Rs 50 crore will be spent for the safety of roads. CM Rekha Gupta said that many cameras are installed but they are not working. There is no maintenance. Now 50 thousand new cameras will be installed, for which Rs 225 crore has been allocated.

Rs 450 crore for free bus travel for women

Rekha Gupta said that a fund of Rs 260 crore has been kept for free cylinders. Rs 450 crore have been kept for free bus travel for women in Delhi, but corruption will not be allowed in this.

9000 crore allocated for DJB

The government has announced to allocate a special budget of Rs 300 crore in the first phase for the development of East Delhi (across Yamuna). Rs 787 crore has been kept for Delhi Village Board. At the same time, Rs 9,000 crore has been given to Delhi Jal Board. A master plan has been prepared to deal with the problem of waterlogging and a fund of Rs 610 crore has been given to the irrigation department.

Government brought Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya scheme

There was no accountability in the Laadli scheme. In its place, the government has brought Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana with transparency. Money will be deposited into the girl’s bank account from birth till her graduation. He will get Rs 1.20 lakh in the end.

Provision of Rs 5100 crore to give Rs 2500 to women

The Chief Minister said that a budget of Rs 7406 crore has been kept for the Women and Child Development Department. Had promised to give Rs 2500 under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. A provision of Rs 5100 crore has been made in this. This scheme is going to run continuously. An investigation committee has been formed to find out whether the officer sisters are availing this benefit. Work is going on on that. Soon the government will open a portal through which sisters can apply.
