The government said; Country has enough reserves, advised people not to worry
New Delhi.
The Central Government has rejected the fake news spreading regarding change in the deadline for booking LPG gas cylinders. The Petroleum Ministry has clarified that the government has not made any changes in the booking rules and the existing system is applicable.
According to the ministry, some media reports and social media posts were claiming that a new deadline of 45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single cylinder and 35 days for double cylinder has been implemented. The government has termed these claims as misleading and false. The ministry said that the existing deadline for LPG refill booking will remain applicable as before. 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, which is equally applicable on all types of connections.
Appeal to citizens to avoid rumors
The government has appealed to the people not to believe or spread fake news. Also, it is advised to avoid making unnecessary or nervous LPG booking. The ministry assured that there is sufficient stock of LPG in the country. There is no shortage of any kind regarding the cylinder. The government has advised consumers not to worry about anything.
