The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has issued a strong clarification debunking viral news reports and social media claims suggesting revised waiting periods for LPG cylinder refills.
According to the official statement released today, certain reports claimed new timelines of 45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double-bottle connections. The Ministry has categorically denied any such revisions.
“The existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, irrespective of the connection type,” the Ministry stated.
The clarification comes under the banner of **Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav** and aims to prevent unnecessary panic among consumers. Citizens have been advised not to believe or circulate such misinformation and to refrain from making premature or panic bookings of LPG refills.
The Ministry reiterated that **adequate LPG stocks are available across the country**, and there is “no cause for concern” regarding supply. Consumers are encouraged to book refills only as per the established schedule to ensure smooth distribution for all.
LPG cylinders can be conveniently booked through digital modes including the MyLPG app, WhatsApp, SMS, IVRS, or the respective oil marketing company portals.
This official reassurance is expected to calm anxiety triggered by recent social media posts and unverified reports, especially amid global energy market uncertainties.
