Roberto De Zerbi would be ready to step up and save Tottenham from relegation if he is offered the chance to take charge, according to reports. The north Londoners are staring at the possibility of playing Championship football next season after a disastrous Premier League campaign. They are currently one point clear of the drop zone and are yet to win a league game in 2026.

Igor Tudor was brought in to replace Thomas Frank in February on an interim basis until the end of the season. However, the Croatian has failed to turn things around and it's been reported that he could be sacked ahead of schedule. De Zerbi, who left Marseille last month, has emerged as one of the favourites to take over if Tudor is relieved of his duties.

It was recently reported that De Zerbi had no interest in managing another club until at least the start of next season. He was said to be keen on taking a break from football matters, as was his intention when leaving Marseille.

However, it's now been claimed by i that he would be ready to 'get his hands dirty' and take on the Tottenham job if he is approached.

It's said that Spurs are giving 'serious thought' to the idea of replacing Tudor before the end of the campaign, with De Zerbi willing to assume responsibility for saving their season.

Tudor is currently mourning the death of his father and Tottenham will be mindful of giving him time and space, but it's been suggested that things could still move quickly in terms of his immediate future.

De Zerbi, meanwhile, is said to be keen on returning to the Premier League, where he experienced relative success with Brighton between 2022 and 2024.

Mauricio Pochettino and Andoni Iraola are thought to have been identified as other potential candidates, but neither manager would be available until the summer at the earliest.

A number of former players and managers have thrown their hat into the ring, including the likes of Harry Redknapp and Tim Sherwood.

However, the report claims that Tottenham would be looking for a more current candidate if Tudor is axed over the coming days.

It's also said that Tudor could leave by mutual consent rather than being sacked, given the personal circumstances he currently finds himself in.

It remains to be seen how things will unfold at Tottenham during the international break, with club chiefs thought to be weighing up some big decisions as they look to avoid an unthinkable relegation to the Championship.
