Several areas of the UK could see smatterings of snow before Friday, according to the latest weather maps from the Met Offie.

Weather maps have revealed the UK areas which are set to see snow before Friday. It comes as the Met Office warned Brits that temperatures this week would fall, as conditions become colder and wetter. According to weather maps, various areas across Scotland, the North of England, the Midlands and Wales will experience snow over the next two days, with temperatures also remaining low.

Areas including Fort William, Ullapool and Loch Rannoch in Scotland have already started to experience wintry conditions, as across Greater Manchester. Snowfall will continue to move southwards throughout the days, where it will be picked up further down in the country in Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham and Coventry.

Showers across the country will also make an appearance, stretching right from Hampshire, all the way up to Scotland's north coast. In fact, the Met Office map shows that the majority of Scotland will experience wet weather, which will persist into the very early hours of Friday.

The Met Office informed Brits of the dramatic weather change this week.

Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Steven Keates said: "A series of weather fronts will bring periods of rain, strong winds and much colder air by midweek. Wednesday could be quite a shock to the system.

"Temperatures will range from 6°C to 10°C, but it will feel closer to low single figures for many areas in the wind. Wintry showers are likely, especially over higher ground in the north, and a widespread frost - with icy patches for some - is possible on Wednesday night. It should be a little milder again by the end of the week, with many areas seeing another spell of rain on Friday."
