Iran rejected America’s 15-point peace proposal, said – will end the war only on its own terms

Tehran, March 25. Iran has rejected America’s 15-point peace proposal, terming it impractical. Along with this, Iran has also said that it will end the war on its own terms.

Iran’s Press TV gave this information on Wednesday quoting a senior official. The official said, ‘Tehran has reviewed the US proposal to end the war. Iran will end the war only when it wants to and when its conditions are met.

America sent peace proposal to Iran through Pakistan

Meanwhile, another Iranian official has said that his country’s reaction to the US proposal is not positive and Tehran is still reviewing it. It is being told that America had sent this peace proposal to Iran through Pakistan. The Iranian official said that Tehran’s initial response has been handed over to Pakistan so that it can convey it to the US.

American proposal ‘Extreme and illogical’, it doesn’t look good even on paper

Speaking to Al Jazeera, a high-level Iranian diplomatic source described the US proposal as ‘extreme and illogical’. It doesn’t look good even on paper. The source said that what is being shown in the media does not actually reflect what is written in the proposal.

Along with rejecting America’s peace proposal, Iran has set these five conditions for ending the war –

  1. Complete stop to attacks and killings.
  2. A guarantee that war will not be imposed again in the future.
  3. Payment of damages and compensation for war losses.
  4. A simultaneous end to the war on all fronts.
  5. International recognition of Iran’s sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz.

Pakistan’s statement on handing over American proposal to Iran

On the other hand, two Pakistani officials, who submitted the proposal to Iran, mentioned 15 things and said that it included relief in sanctions, withdrawal of Iran’s nuclear program, setting limits on missiles and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is an important waterway through which 20 percent of the world’s oil is exported. An Egyptian official involved in mediation efforts said the proposal included sanctions on Iran’s support for armed groups.
