Kristi Noem has embarked on her new position as the United States Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas, initiating her journey with visits to several South and Central American nations. During her tour, she engaged with various leaders, including Ecuador's Daniel Noboa, and received an order of merit. This trip, which included stops in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guyana, and Ecuador, comes after her recent dismissal from her role as head of the Department of Homeland Security by Donald Trump.

However, her visit has drawn attention on social media, particularly after the US Embassy in Guyana shared images showing Corey Lewandowski sitting next to Noem during what seemed to be a meeting with American and Guyanese officials. The post quickly gained traction, leading many to question Lewandowski's presence on this official trip, especially given his past connections with Noem and the controversies surrounding them.

Television personality Meghan McCain expressed her disbelief on social media, stating, “Kristi Noem - you brought Corey Lewandowski with you to Guyana after just being fired from your last job... GIRL WHAT IS YOU DOING?!?” This sentiment was echoed by numerous users who questioned the appropriateness of Lewandowski's attendance.

Controversies Surrounding Noem's Departure from DHS Inside Kristi Noem's Exit from DHS And Corey Lewandowski Allegations

Noem's exit from the Department of Homeland Security was preceded by a tumultuous period filled with controversy, including allegations regarding an inappropriate relationship with Lewandowski, which she dismissed as 'tabloid garbage' during a congressional hearing. Despite her denials, their close relationship continued to attract scrutiny.

Lewandowski, who had been an aide to Noem at DHS, was also let go following her departure. Officials later clarified that he is not affiliated with the State Department and will not be joining it in any capacity. Reports suggest that Noem commenced her trip while still officially serving as DHS Secretary, traveling on a department aircraft alongside Lewandowski. Her last official act in that role reportedly took place in Costa Rica, where she signed an agreement permitting the country to accept migrants deported from the United States who are nationals of third countries.

Now reporting to Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in her new envoy position, Noem is anticipated to return to the United States upon completing her tour. Officials have indicated that she will no longer have access to DHS aircraft moving forward. Despite ongoing speculation, neither Noem nor Lewandowski has publicly addressed the allegations regarding their relationship.
