Truck loses control, crashes into ditch on NH-66 near Kumbhashi; driver injured

Kumbhashi: A truck lost control, mounted the divider, and veered into the opposite lane before falling into a roadside ditch on National Highway 66 near Kumbhashi at around 7.15 pm on March 25.
The truck, which was transporting stone jelly from Udupi towards Kundapur, reportedly went out of the driver’s control and suddenly climbed onto the divider. It then moved to the opposite side of the road and fell into a ditch.
The driver sustained serious injuries to the head and neck in the incident and was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Koteshwara.
Preliminary information suggests that the accident occurred after a tyre of the truck burst.
