The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule of Team India’s home season (2026-27). Team India will play 22 matches at home between 27 September 2026 and 3 March next year. These matches will be played at 17 venues. Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium has been given the hosting rights of two international matches each.
In June last year, 11 people were killed outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL victory celebrations. Since then no international match has been played on this ground. International cricket will return here on October 17. On this day, the Indian team will face West Indies in the last match of the five-match T20 series.
Series with Zimbabwe in January 2027
The home season of the Indian team will start with the white ball series against West Indies. The Caribbean team is touring India for a 3-match ODI and 5-match T20 series. After this the Sri Lankan team will come. The Sri Lankan team will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches in December. Zimbabwe team will land for a 3-match ODI series early next year. The Zimbabwean team will step on Indian soil for a bilateral series after 25 years.
Team India’s home season will end with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. From January 21 to early March, 5 test matches will be played between India and Australia. The Border-Gavaskar 2027 matches will be played in Nagpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad.
