What is the new biometric payment feature?
NPCI has started biometric authentication for UPI transactions through its subsidiary company. This feature lets users approve payments in the following ways:
fingerprint recognition
facial recognition
This facility is available for transactions up to ₹5,000. This means that you can complete small payments quickly without having to enter your UPI PIN every time.
How to turn on this feature?
Open BHIM app on your smartphone
Go to profile section
Select your linked bank account
Enable ‘Biometric Transaction’ option
Once activated, you can use your fingerprint or face to approve payments instantly.
