Kartik Aaryan continues to remain in the spotlight with multiple projects in development, even as his recent box office performance has been underwhelming. While the actor had only one release in 2025—which failed to make a strong impact—attention is now shifting to his upcoming films, including Captain India and Anurag Basu’s untitled musical drama.

The much-awaited romantic musical directed by Anurag Basu, co-starring Srileela, has officially been delayed and will no longer release in 2026. Initially slated for an earlier release, the film has now been pushed to 2027. Recent reports confirm that shooting has commenced in Srinagar, with key outdoor sequences also planned in Pahalgam. The project is being backed by T-Series, although details about the storyline remain under wraps.

Meanwhile, a significant development has emerged regarding Captain India. Originally announced in 2021 with Hansal Mehta at the helm, the film will now be directed by Shimit Amin, best known for Chak De! India. The project is reportedly on track, with shooting expected to begin between May and July. Kartik is currently occupied with another T-Series film, after which he will move on to this venture.

In addition to these projects, Kartik has wrapped up shooting for Naagzilla, which is scheduled for a theatrical release in August. The actor is also set to collaborate once again with director Kabir Khan following Chandu Champion. Their upcoming film, described as a mega-budget sports-adventure, will be based on the life of Kashmiri kickboxer Tajamul Islam, with Kartik portraying a coach.
